Simple and inexpensive, these DIY clothespin flowers are a fun way to bring more color into your life! Here’s how to make this flower craft.

Clothespin Flowers Craft Materials

• Large Clothespins (about 25 per flower, although the number will vary based on the size of your clothespins)
• Mini Clothespins (about 15 per flower – I used this pack of metallic colored mini clothespins from Michael’s)
• Superglue
• Spray paint
• Gem embellishments, about 1 inch across
• Fishing line
• Clear beads (optional)

Clothespin Flowers Craft Instructions

• Take apart the large clothespins and discard the metal springs.
• Place two halves of a clothespin back to back, as shown, and glue together to create a “petal”. Repeat with remaining clothespin. Allow glue to set.

• Arrange large clothespins into a flower shape as shown. Don’t worry about whether they line up around the center hole, since this will later be covered. Instead, focus on aligning the smaller gaps to make even holes.
• Spread glue on the bottom half of one “petal” and attach to the next clothespin. Continue around the circle until complete. Allow glue to set.
• Spray paint the large clothespin flowers in color(s) of your choice. (Note: I first tried using acrylic craft paint and a brush, but found it extremely difficult to get the paint into all the crevices and holes. Spray paint was just easier in the end.) Allow to dry.
• Repeat the above steps with the mini clothespins. Be gentle as they can break somewhat easily. If using pre-colored clothespins, you can skip the painting step.

• Assemble each flower: Glue a gem embellishment over the center of the mini clothespin flower. Then glue this smaller flower over the center of the larger flower.
• String fishing line through one of the small holes and embellish with a clear bead if desired. Tie fishing line off at the top in your desired length.

Double-Sided Option: If you’d like to hang these from the ceiling instead of on the wall, add a second mini clothespin flower on the back side of the large flower so it looks great from either side.
